A string drops offline, an optimiser stops reporting, or an inverter derates in summer heat, and the only visible symptom is a power bill that is higher than it should be, a quarter later. Monitoring exists so that gap is measured in hours instead of months.

Warranty administration

Warranty claims fail on paperwork far more often than on eligibility. Most panel and inverter warranties require evidence of correct installation and, in many cases, servicing at stated intervals. Keeping a documented service history is what turns a 25-year warranty into something you can actually claim against, and we hold that record and lodge the claim on your behalf.

Compliance context

Servicing and any remedial electrical work must be carried out by a licence holder for the state or territory concerned, and any work that alters the installation is assessed against AS/NZS 5033 and AS/NZS 4777, or AS/NZS 5139 where a battery is involved. Where a system needs recommissioning under the small-scale renewable energy scheme, accredited involvement is required through Solar Accreditation Australia.

Common questions

Compare current generation against the system's modelled expectation for the same season, not against last quarter. A system can lose a whole string, roughly a third of its output, and still appear to be working normally on a summer day. Monitoring with automated alerts is the only reliable way to catch it quickly.
A general guide is an electrical and visual inspection every two years for residential systems and annually for commercial sites, but the binding answer is whatever your specific panel, inverter and battery warranties require, since missing a stated service interval can affect a future claim.
Only when soiling is measurably reducing output. Rainfall handles most residential roofs. Cleaning is genuinely worthwhile in dusty, agricultural, coastal salt-spray or high-pollen environments, and where low roof pitch stops rain from clearing debris.
